Masthead Island

Masthead Island is a great island for bird watching, coral cay with surrounding reef, located northeast of Gladstone and is part of the Capricornia Cays National Park. The Island features a turtle rookery and is a popular spot for nesting seabirds. There are limited campsites so bookings are necessary.

Capricona Cays National Park

Lady Musgrave Island is the only coral island on the Great Barrier Reef with a navigable lagoon. The Island is a true coral cay and reefwalkers will discover jewel-bright starfish, sea-urchins, clams and corals exposed at high tide. Scuba divers may come face to face with a manta ray or moray eel, and snorkellers will discover giant rainbow coloured carrot fish or coral trout.
