Staircase to the Moon

This natural phenomenon occurs when the full moon rises over the exposed mudflats at extremely low tide, creating the optical illusion of a staircase reaching to the moon.

The Kimberley Writers Festival celebrates the written and creative word in Kununurra in the East Kimberley. Each year writers, illustrators and musicians are invited to participate in the event, which attracts locals, people living in remote areas, and many visitors.
