Dirt and
Dust Festival
|
11 - 13 April
The Dirt and Dust Festival is an annual community-run
event staged in Julia Creek, along the Overlanders
Way. The Festival is based around one of the
toughest triathlons in Australia, run at 12
noon, starting at the local water hole.

Mantra Reef
& Rainforest Carnivale

18 - 27 May.
Mantra Reef & Rainforest Carnivale is a 10-day
celebration of life in the tropics. It’s a time
when visitors and locals come together for Art,
cuisine, sports, culture, circus displays and
performances.

Mareeba Art
Show

9 - 14 July
The 44th annual exhibition displaying many diverse
styles of art. Opening night there is celebrations
with prizes to be given out. Nominal entry fee.

Pier Shopping
Sportsfest

25 - 26 August
The Pier Shopping Sportsfest is a weekend packed
full of fun and excitement. The Cairns Esplanade
comes alive with many events including ocean
swim, fun run, cycling criterion and the Coral
Coast triathlon. Thrills and spills occur at
every angle and the atmosphere is full of passion,
drive and determination! There will also be
beach volleyball, art and craft markets, sports
expo, entertainment and bands.

Palm Cove
Fiesta

13 - 15 October
The Palm Cove Fiesta is an outdoor food and
wine festival set on Palm Cove's beautiful Esplanade.
Combing sand, sea, sun and the magnificent Palm
Cove Esplanade precinct with great food and
wine, it is a celebration of all the reasons
we live in the tropics.
