Birdworld Kuranda
In the heart
of Kuranda, 30minutes from Cairns, Birdworld Kuranda
is one of the largest free-flight aviaries in Australia.
More than 500 birds from around the globe fly freely
amongst the rainforest trees above. Amongst the flutter
of wings and the birdsong is 56 different species of
native Australian birds living in the safe enclosure,
including brightly coloured parrots, playful lorikeets
and the large elusive cassowary.

Mt Hypipamee
National Park
Scenic rainforest
park with spectacular sheer-sided explosion crater,
cascades, upland rainforest and abundant wildlife. Spotlighting
tours feature the park’s wildlife. The crater protected
in this park is about 70m across and 140m deep. Mt Hypipamee
is famous for its possums. If you go spotlighting at
night you might see the lemuroid ringtail, green ringtail
or coppery brushtail possums.
