Lorne is one of the more popular starting points for most journeys along the Great Ocean Road. One of the many side attractions near Lorne is Cinema Point, about 10 km north-east of the town, which is the highest point on the Great Ocean Road.

Shipwreck Walk

A popular walk along the beach brings the visitor across a series of plaques giving details of the many shipwrecks which have taken place along this perilous stretch of coastline.

Located at the corner of Otway St and the Great Ocean Road, this museum details the history behind the Great Ocean Road, as well as covering some of the more interesting episodes of local history.
