Bushman’s Hill

One of Parke's very first gold mines was opened on this site and it is now a tribute to the town's mining heritage, with historical relics preserved on-site and a memorial to those who have lost their lives in the North Parkes Mine.

Memorial Hill

This hill is the site of the ‘Shrine of Remembrance’, which is dedicated to the men and women who gave their lives during the World Wars and subsequent conflicts. From the top of the hill, there is a panoramic view of Parkes.

Parkes Observatory

Learn more about the cosmos at this observatory located about 20 km north of Parkes. This was the observatory featured in the movie 'The Dish'.

The Peak Hill Open Cut Experience

One a fully working mine at the turn of the century, many of the old machinery and workings have been preserved; it is now a popular attraction for visitors, who can take either guided or self-guided tours.
