Bushman’s Hill
One of Parke's
very first gold mines was opened on this site and it
is now a tribute to the town's mining heritage, with
historical relics preserved on-site and a memorial to
those who have lost their lives in the North Parkes
Mine.

Memorial Hill
This hill
is the site of the ‘Shrine of Remembrance’, which is
dedicated to the men and women who gave their lives
during the World Wars and subsequent conflicts. From
the top of the hill, there is a panoramic view of Parkes.

Parkes Observatory
Learn more
about the cosmos at this observatory located about 20
km north of Parkes. This was the observatory featured
in the movie 'The Dish'.

The
Peak Hill Open Cut Experience
One a fully
working mine at the turn of the century, many of the
old machinery and workings have been preserved; it is
now a popular attraction for visitors, who can take
either guided or self-guided tours.
