Vienna City Marathon

Starting in front of the UNO building and winding
its way through 42km of Vienna's streets, this
challenging run draws thousands of competitors
past some of the city's most interesting districts
and buildings.

Youth and Music Festival

12 - 15 July
Visitors to this fabulous city can hear recitals
of great classical works performed by talented
youth choirs, orchestras, bands and musicians.
The festival is a competitive event with prizes
awarded to the winning performers in each category.

Danube Island festival
|
7 September
Held every third weekend in June, this festival
draws tens of thousands to the Donauinsel, a
series of small islands in the Danube, where
they can enjoy a weekend of music, dance and
other entertainments. Best of all, admission
is free!

The biggest literary event in Vienna, most of
this festival takes place in the massive tent
in front of the Burgtheatre, where famous Austrian
authors read from their works.

Viennale
|

First held in 1960, this long-running film festival
presents both international and Austrian films
to an enthusiastic, and involves venues all
around the city centre. This event regularly
draws more than 60,000 visitors.

Christmas Markets
|
18 November - 24 December
Starting at the end of November lasting till
Christmas Day you can find "Christkindlmärkte"
on nearly every corner of the city.
