A Taste of Edmonton

19 - 28 July

This is arguably the biggest and most anticipated summer festivals in Edmonton. During this 10-day event, up to 40 restaurants participate by offering a savoury & sweet dish each. There are also music, performances and food preparation demonstrations as well as a chance to sample some food & alcoholic beverages at the Sir Winston Churchill Square.

 

Edmonton Heritage Festival

4 - 6 August

This festival celebrates the cultural diversity of Canada, with non-stop entertainment, food, arts & crafts & more. Admission is free, but visitors are required to bring at least one non-perishable food item each to be donated to the Edmonton Food Bank.

 

Edmonton Folk Music Festival

9 - 12 August

Held in Gallagher Park's natural amphitheatre, this event features a mainstage show offering music from around the world, as well as food & drinks, arts & crafts, beer gardens & other knick-knacks on sale.

 

Canadian Finals Rodeo 2007

9 - 12 August

Watch the country's top cowboys battle it out by wrestling steers, roping cattles, racing around barrels at break-neck speeds, and battling bucking broncos and bulls for the chance to take home the buckle of a champion, as well as the prestigious title of Rodeo Champion & CAD 1 million prize money.

 

Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival

16 - 26 August

The largets fringe festival on the continent offers 11 fun-filled days of theatre shows from around the world, as well as food & drinks and art & crafts by local artisans. Over 500,000 visitors turn up each year to watch more than 1000 indoor and outdoor stage performances.

 

Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival

17 - 19 August

Six dragon boats compete in this spectacular event which captures the attention of international sporting enthusiasts and attended by thousands each year.

 

Edmonton International Film Festival

28 September - 6 October

This event presents an eclectic array of feature-length films, documentaries and short films from all over the world, with interviews, competitions and parties.

 

InterFear Arts Festival

25 - 28 October

Set in the spookiest mood of the season - the Halloween - this arts festival is filled with a variety of theatrical, musical and visual offerings which play on your fears and imagination.
