The Forbidden City (Imperial Palace) - The Palace Museum
Known as the Former Palace, the Forbidden City was the imperial residence of China's
emperors from two dynasties namely Ming and Qing. Spreading across 720, 000 square meters
with a total of 70 structures and 9, 000 rooms, the palace was transformed into a museum in the early 20th century, housing some of the world's greatest collections of fine treasures spanning
some 5000 years of Chinese history with a rich concentration of art and artifacts from the Qing imperial court.

Yonghe Gong (Lama Temple)
The Lama Temple, or also known as the Temple of Peace and Harmony originally belonged
to Prince Yin Zhen, the son of Emperor Kang Xi from the Qing Dynasty. A series of beautiful pavilions comprise this Mongolian-Tibetan yellow-sect temple, which features an impressive
fifty-four-foot high Buddha carved from one piece of Tibetan sandalwood. It features five large
halls and five courtyards with beautifully decorative archways, upturned eaves and carved details.
It houses a treasury of Buddhist art, including sculptured images of gods, demons and Buddhas,
as well as Tibetan-style murals.

Beihai Park
Once reserved specially for the imperial family, Beihai Park has since been transformed into the perfect example of a classical Chinese garden. Pavilions, temples, halls, restaurants and covered walkways now occupy the park. There are four gates to the park, which includes a 36 metre high White Dagoba in the centre of one islet, a painted gallery, and the enormous tiled Nine Dragon Screen.
