Zhan Bridge

Considered the symbol of Qingdao, this bridge is decorated with lotus-shaped lanterns and has an octagonal pavilion nearby for rest-breaks and a charming view of Qingdao Bay.

Shopping

Qingdao has a number of shopping areas where visitors can get everything from original designer goods to fake copies, often for a ridiculously cheap prices (if you can bargain well). Try Zhongshan Road, Taidong Pedestrian Street, Jimo Road Small Articles Wholesale Market or Hong Kong Middle Road.

Xinhao (Signal) Hill Park

This park is popular not just as an outdoor recreational area but also for the panoramic view of Qingdao from Circling Hall.

Mt. Laoshan

The most famous mountain in Qingdao area for its connections to the birth of Taoism, Mt Laoshan is popular for day hikes up to the summit. The lower slopes are also noted for their vegetable farms.

Eight Passes Villas Scenic Area (Badaguan Scenic Area)

One of the most scenic areas of the city, many of the more imposing civic and private buildings of the city are located here, most notably the Huashi building, former home of the president of Kuomintang, Chiang Kai-shek.
