Share A Tip or Article Contest Rules
 

Compensation Not Provided
No compensation shall be provided to the winners aside from the stipulated prizes announced for the contests, which we may conduct from time to time. In the event of non-contest period, HolidayCity reserves the right to use your contribution in the Tips section.  

Automatic entry in the Share A Tip or Article Contest

You are automatically eligible to participate in our Share A Tip or Article contest upon submission of your material. HolidayCity reserves the right to publish the tips or articles and make the necessary amendment to the material as per our requirements.

HolidayCity Pte. Ltd. and HCity Sdn. Bhd. is the organizer of the Share A Tip or Article contest. Staff of HolidayCity Pte. Ltd. and HCity Sdn. Bhd. and their immediate family members are not eligible for entry in this contest. However, the tips or articles submitted may still be published at the discretion of HolidayCity Pte. Ltd. and HCity Sdn. Bhd.

Contact Details Required
You are required to include your name and e-mail address in your submission of tips or articles. Entries with incomplete personal and contact details will be disqualified. HolidayCity will publish your entry together with your full name. You have the option to use a pseudonym or request to remain anonymous. We will not publish your tip or article if we do not receive your personal details. Your name will be published together with your tip or article, unless you specifically request that it not be published. We will, however require that you provide us with your full name and country of residence even if this information will not be published.

Other formats you can use
We provide a text space on our website for you to submit your article.  If you have written your article in another electronic format such as ASCII text (.txt), Rich Text Format (.rtf), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) or Microsoft Word (.doc), you can send us an e-mail at article@holidaycityflash.com, with your file as an attachment.  We will only accept electronic content.

Contest Period
The contest period is stated in the newsletter and our other web pages. Any entries after the contest period will be disqualified. HolidayCity reserves the right to either shorten or to extend the contest period.
 

Winners must be contactable
In order for HolidayCity to award the winner with his/her prizes, we must be able to contact the selected winner prior to announcing the winner on our website and in our newsletter. There must be a response to our efforts to contact the person in order for the winner to be deemed contactable. If the first selected winner for a prize cannot be contacted within a reasonable period of time (7 days), another selection is then made and if the next selected winner is successfully contacted, the prize will be awarded to that person instead. The decision of the organizer is final and no correspondence will be entertained. 

Winner Selection
Winners will be selected by the HolidayCity based on the quality of the articles and its suitability for insertion on our website, www.holidaycity.com. We only accept articles written in English, presented in a legible format and submitted within the stipulated timeline. In the event the articles submitted for the contests do not meet the contest requirements, HolidayCity reserves the right not to award the prizes to any individual.

Previous contest winners will also not be eligible to win contest prizes for four contest rounds or two months, whichever is the longer, following the contest in which they submitted the winning entry.

Notification of Winners
Contest winners will be notified by e-mail. Winners must contact the organizers via e-mail in order to claim their prizes.  Auto-respond e-mails will not be entertained.  HolidayCity allows for a 7 day grace period for the winners to contact us. If no response is received by the organizer within this period, the winner will be disqualified.  Error messages indicating that the notification e-mail could not be sent to the winner’s e-mail address will result in the disqualification of the winner.

The organizer reserves the right at its sole discretion to select a new winner in the event that the original winner is disqualified for any of the reasons stated above or for any extraordinary reason which arises.
