Cathedrale St. Andre
The main features of the
cathedral are its Royal Door and the North Door, covered with sculpted
ornamentation. The church is dominated by pointed spires. The Tour Pey-Berland the cathedral’s belfry, is built on a site with
foundations dating back to 900 years ago.

St. Seurin Basilica
Gray in colour, St. Seurin
has crypts dating from the 5th Century AD.

St. Michel Basilica
This church features
gothic architecture. Part of a famous pilgrimage route, it and St. Seurin and the Cathedral have been marked as UNESCO world Heritage
Sites.

Fleche St. Michel
Across the street from St.
Michel Basilica, this is the tallest stone tower in France, and the
tower bells are played as instruments in a carillon concerton Fridays
from July to August.

Harbour Cruise
A 1 ½ hours tour by boat of the harbour, embarking from Embarcaderes des Quinconces. Interesting sights
on the river include the Pont de Pierre, a bridge built in 1813 at
Napoleon’s orders.

Place de la Bourse
With quays opening up to
the Garonne, the square is the site of commercial buildings such as the
Stock Exchange and the Custom House. A fountain dedicated to the three
Graces is in the center of the square.

Palais Rohan
Built for the Archbishop of
Bordeaux in 1771, the palace of Rohan features a grand staircase and an
intricately decorated dining room.

Musee des Beaux Arts
Located near the Palais Rohan, this museum boasts a collection of paintings by titian, Veronese
and French favourite Delacroix.

Wine Tours by Coach
The City’s Tourism Office
operates tours to the famed vineyards that are the city’s claim to fame.
Tours are given daily from April to November, and on Wednesdays and
Saturdays from Arpil to November.
