Montpellier: Things To See & Do
|
Place de la Comedie
This pedestrian-only
square in the heart of Montpellier is the main-gathering point
of the town, where everyone comes to meet, relax in the numerous
cafes and restaurants, and generally enjoy themselves. In case
you're wondering, it was named for the first theatre that was
built on that site in the 1870s.

The Old Town
Wander through the
quiet lanes and tiny squares of the old town, where quaint 17th
century houses still stand, many of them still homes to families
which have lived there for generations. For an easy way to see
it, board the Le Petit Train Touristique.

Esplanade
Charles-De-Gaulle
A wide boardwalk
running from the Place de la Comedie to the Corum building, many
of the city's museums are located along or near this stretch.
Try taking a horse-drawn carriage along it for added pizzazz.
