Nice Tourist Train (Train Touristique de Nice)

These rubber wheeled vehicles offers a sightseeing experience of the major parts of the town — the promenade des Anglais, the place Massena, and the quai de Etats-Unis.

 


 

Promenade des Anglais

This road fronting the beach is lined with some of the best tourist spots — cafes and restaurants, hotels and grand villas

 


Massena Square (Place Massena)

Public square where people in town get together — for soccer matches on the giant TV — and high class boutiques ringing the place.

 


 

Massena Palace (Palais Massena)

Built by one of Napoleon’s top generals, this lavish palace is now home to the Musee d'Art et d'Histoire.

 


National Museum of Biblical Art by Marc Chagall (Musee National Message Biblique Marc-Chagall)

A collection of Chagall paintings with biblical themes, donated to the French State by the famous painter and his wife.

 


 

Matisse Museum (Musee Matisse)

The works of the groundbreaking artist Matisse have a place in this town, which was his home in the last years of his life.

 


Lascaris Palace (Palais Lascaris)

Once the seat of the noble house of Lascaris-Vintimille, this 17th Century house is decorated with elaborate baroque style ornamentation.

 


 

Flower Market (Marche aux Fleurs)

A landmark flower market opens up at the cours Saleya, from Tuesdays through Sundays.

 


Old Town (Vielle Ville)

The old town of Nice, with traces of Italian architecture and cuisine showing. Some of the best shopping in Nice is to be had here.
