Beethoven House
Bonn's most famous
son is immortalized in the house where he was born in 1770,
which has been lovingly preserved. The house holds a vast
collection of Beethoven artifacts, from paintings, personal
letters, sheet music and musical instruments.

Old Town Hall
One of the most
popular landmarks in Bonn is its 700-year old Town Hall, which
dominates the old Market Square. Numerous luminaries,
including Charles de Gaulle and President John F. Kennedy have
visited the hall, and the square itself is a popular place to
relax and people-watch.

Alter Zoll
Built in the 17th
century during the course of the Thirty Year War in order to
charge a toll on the ships passing on the Rhine, this former
customs house is now better appreciated for the magnificent
views it offers.

One of the few
remaining areas of nineteenth century residences that survived
the wars and development mania of the twentieth century, this
charming district is a wonderful place to stroll around and
admire the fin de siecle beauty of the houses.

museum, which offers a fascinating look at everything from
rebuilding after the second world war, to the reunification with
