The Rathaus (town hall)

Built in the Gothic style, is located in the Alstadt, or old town, which is the site of several major attractions.

 


 

Schlossturm

A round tower built by the electors (rulers) of Dusseldorf and now houses a museum to navigation.

 


 

Konigsallee

A premier shopping street lined with cafes, restaurants and offices. Dusseldorf is the fashion centre of Germany and has its own “fashion week”.

 


 

St. Andreas Church

Baroque-style architecture church, built as a Jesuit Institution during the thirty years war era.

 


 

Benrath Palace

Summer residence built by elector Karl Theodor. The grounds were used as a hunting lodge and feature a beautiful park.

 


 

Rheinturm

This modern observation tower offers a commanding view of the Rhine Valley, and on a clear day, even Cologne is visible from its 234 m high deck.
