Frankfurt´s Dippemess at the Festplatz (Fairground)
on Ratsweg is one of the city's best-loved events.
The activities include a market with stalls as well
as parish fair with fairground attractions.

reduced fee) during this major event.

Henninger Rennen

If you're around the Henning brewery, you can't miss
this annual bicycle race, which begins and ends at
the brewers. A semi classic cycle race, the "Rund um
den Henninger-Turm" (Around the Henninger Tower),
takes in Frankfurt and the Taunus Mountains which
includes several steep climbs. It starts and
finishes at Darmstadter Landstrasse outside the
Henninger Tower.

Opel Ironman

This European Championship triathlon runs through
Frankfurt and far into the surrounding towns in a
southwest to northeast direction. The triathlon
involves competing in each of a 42.2km (26.25 miles)
run, a 180km (112 miles) bicycle race and a 3.8km
(2.25 miles) swim.

For 2km on both banks of the River Maine, the city’s
museums display hundreds of brilliant masterpieces –
paintings, sculpture, film, photography and
architectural exhibits – for one of the world's
foremost free museum events. The range of open-air
attractions includes stages for music and drama,
exhibition stands, fun activities, a jazz garden and
games for the children.

The Frankfurt Jazz Festival is relatively small but
durable, with a long and faithful. Members of the "Jazzensemble"
who performed in the original 1953 event keep the
traditional strand alive while new artists push the
boundaries and keep the festival funky.

Possibly the biggest such event in the world, and
definitely the biggest in Germany, thousands of
publishers, authors and vendors turn up for this
event.

Thousands of participants come from around the
Continent to take part in the race through the
streets of Frankfurt

Christmas Fair

The festive season in Frankfurt is a polished and
well-run show mix of locals and visitors from
overseas. From Thanksgiving until just before
Christmas, the city’s old section, from the
Romerberg to the Main River, is ablaze with lights,
decorations and the bustle of holiday crowds.
