during the 14th century, and was over the centuries rebuilt and

Wüerzburg Residence
Built from 1720-1744 to be a
'palace of palaces' for the Schonborn prince-bishops, this is
magnificent German Baroque palace is a UNESCO Cultural preserve for its
cultural and architectural magnificence. There are over 300 lavishly
decorated rooms in the palace, only a fraction of which are open to the

palace are equally extravagant, entirely in keeping with the building
itself.
