San Giacomo Maggiore

Basilica San Domenico

Basilica San Petronio

The University

The Leaning Towers

Bologna has its own leaning towers — a pair, actually. The Tower of the Assinelli and the Tower of the Garisenda appear to sway in the air above Bologna. Only the Tower of the Assinelli is accessible to the public.

Piazza Maggiore

The heart of the city is a huge square with many landmark buildings from the medieval and renaissance eras. The Fountain of Neptune located near the Piazza features a unique sculpture of Neptune.

Palazzo Communale

The civic center of Bologna houses a collection of fine art within several museums.

San Giacomo Maggiore

This spare looking gothic cathedral is a repository of several fine paintings from various ages.

Basilica San Domenico

This 700 year old church houses the tomb of San Domenico.

Basilica San Petronio

One among the largest churches in the world, dedicated to the patron saint of Bologna.

The University

One of the most renowned universities in Europe, the University of Bologna has several interesting museums featuring naval, military and obstetrics subjects.
