National Archaeological Museum
Housed in Cagliari's
imposing Citadel, this huge museum contains an enormous number of
artifacts from as far back as the Bronze period. The musuem
understandably focuses on the many ancient cultures of Sardinia, and has
one finest collection of related artifacts, particularly of Phoenician
stele.

The Castello Quarter
This area centres on
Cagliari's castle and is the oldest quarter in the city. You can visit
the castel itself for the museum, or wander around the shops and narrow
streets of the surrounding area.

Largo Carlo Felice
This street, together with
the Via Manno, make up the bustling commercial district in Cagliari,
where you'll find the best and latest fashions, restaurants and other
businesses.

Roman Amphiteatre
This ancient amphitheatre
was built in the 2nd Century AD and is one of the best preserved and
largest remaining legacies of Sardinia's Roman period. It once held up
to 20,000 roaring spectators and is still in use today for performances
and concerts in the summer.

Bastion of Saint Remy
This bastion was once the
home to the first viceroy of the house of Savoy, and for a while served
as the social and administrative centre of the city. Today, it is
popular for the stunning view over the city.

The Tuvixeddu Necropolis
This burial ground was built
by the Phoenician-Punics and is one of the largest and most important
monuments left from that long vanished civilization. The site itself is
open of exploration.

Trenino Verde
This Little Green Train, as
the name translates to in English, is the best way to see the beautiful
Sardinian interior, as it passes through some of the most scenic
mountain country on the way to and fro between Nuoro, Bosa, Sassari, Alghero,
Sassari , Palau, Cagliari and Arbatax.
