The Botanical Gardens of Padova (Orto Botanico)

This enormous botanical gardens date back to 1545 and were created by the Venetian Republic to supply medicinal plants for the University of Padova. Amongst its contents are carnivorous plants, an orchid house, aromatic plants specially for the visually-impaired and the Goethe Palm - the oldest plant in the gardens that has been around since 1585.

The Basilica of Sant Antonio

With its Byzantine domes and minaret-style towers, this magnificent cathedral is well-noted for its Asian-inspired beauty, with a richly-decorated interior filled with paintings, sculptures and some of the most fabulous artworks in Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles. Inside the Tresury Chapel (or Chapel of the Relics) are various treasured relics of St Anthony (Sant Antonio) including his tongue, jaw and vocal chords, which are housed in beautiful gold reliquaries.

Scrovegni Chapel (Capella degli Scrovegni)

This chapel which was erected in the 13th century is the star attraction of this town. It is decorated with frescoes painted by the infamous Giotto illustrating the lives of Mary & Jesus, providing an astounding display of Renaissance artwork along its interior walls.

Piazza dei Signori

The Piazza dei Signori contains  the Loggia del Consigli or Loggia della Gran Guardia, an elegant Renaissance building built in the 15th-16th century, with an open loggia below and a closed upper storey.
