This massively celebrated event is one of the
biggest annual events to mark the beginning of
spring, and sees over a million people turn up each
year to line Heiwa Boulevard, all cheering the
dozens of flowered floats passing by.

In a country famed for its animations, there are
quite a few major events celebrating the art and its
practitioners, but Hiroshima's particular festival
is especially popular with both professionals and
aspiring animators, including as it does workshops,
seminars, exhibits as well as screenings of the
latest offerings.
