Kota Kinabalu City Day Celebration

2 February

Celebration the city of Kota Kinabalu with the local folks as the city brings to you plenty of fun, entertainment and activities.

 

City Run

24 February

The City Run is held in conjunction with the City's 8th anniversary. Some 10,000 City folk are expected to participate in this year's run, which offers attractive prizes and a fun lucky draw. 

 

KK City Tourism Treasure Hunt 2008

24 February

In conjunction with the City Day celebration, Kota Kinabalu will hold a treasure hunt across the city. 

 

Borneo Art Exhibition

7 February – 2 March

A combination of Sabahan, Sarawkian, Bruneian and Indonesian works of art will be showcased during this exhibition.

 

9th Annual Sabah Adventure Challenge 2008

21 – 23 March

A race that covers 200 kilometres, through the3 districts in the mountain range and a race around Mount Kinabalu. Disciplines of trail running, orienteering, mountain biking and bamboo rafting.

 

Sabah Fest

3 - 4 May

This is Sabah's most anticipated cultural show where ethnic groups in Sabah display a rich and colourful show of generation-old cultures and tradition. Sabah Fest is the prelude to the statewide celebration of Harvest Festival.

 

Sabah Dragon Boat Race

15 June

Colourful boats in dragon motifs grace Kota Kinabalu's waterfront as they compete for great prizes.

 

Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival

June - September

Malaysia's annual sales carnival promises plenty of bargains and special discounts on lots of items from designer wear to electrical items to lighten the hearts (and pockets) of shopaholics nationwide.

 

Sutera Harbour 7K Sunset Charity Run  2008

July

A way for runners to raise funds for the needy. It has been held annually and organised by one of the leading hotel resort in Kota Kinabalu.

 

Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon

23 - 24 August

Dubbed 'The world's toughest mountain race', this extreme sporting event sees the world's top mountain runners racing up and down Kinabalu's 4096 metres over a total distance of 21 km.

 

KK Mooncake  Celebration 2008 

6 September

Mooncake Festival in KK City is celebrated with samples of delicious mooncakes and lantern parade in the city streets.

 

Malaysia Day & Birthday of T.Y.T Yang Dipertua of Sabah

16 September

On this day, Sabah and Sarawak formed the Federation of Malaysia. Coincidently it is also the official Birthday of His Excellency the Head of State of Sabah.

 

Sabah International Expo 2008 (SIE2008)

15 – 19 October

SIE2008 is a government-sanctioned biennial event, the first expo being the AIE2000, followed by SIE2002, SIE2004 and SIE2006. SIE2008 will be the biggest expo to be held so far, with participation from EU member states.

 

Jom Pigi Taman (Let's Go To The Park)

Held in conjunction with Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Promotion, this event held at  Sabah Agriculture Park features a multitude of activities including fishing competitions, a mountain bike challenge and many more.

 

8th Sabah Open 2008 Dancesport Championship

8 December

This is an annual event held to improve the standard and quality of ballroom dancing in Sabah. This event is open to ballroom dancing enthusiasts from around the region as well as from the Asia Pacific to take up the challenge.
