Pulau Pangkor
The most popular thing
for people to do when they get to Lumut is to leave it - by taking
the ferry from the harbour and going straight to Pulau Pangkor, one
of Malaysia's more popular island getaways. Pangkor is known for its
beaches, which are some of the quietest and most beautiful in the
country. The most popular beach is Pantai Pasir Bogak, as it is close
to Pangkor Town, but be adventurous and go further afield to Nipah
Beach or Teluk Ketapang.

Fishing Villages of Pangkor
Located on the east side
of Pangkor island is a long stretch of tiny fishing villages, which
don't actually have any tourist attractions as such, but are interesting
to visit if you like to see how the locals live. Some of the houses
are built in the traditional manner, on wooden stakes out into the
water.

Teluk Batik
One of the more popular
beaches on the mainland, this one is located about 6.5 km from Lumut
and is popular with picnickers and swimmers. There are also nearby
chalets for rent.
