Mines Resort City

The Mines Resort City is a large mix development located just outside the city. The whole area used to the largest open cast tin mine in the world until 1988 when work began to turn it into a tourism destination. Now, the Mines Resort City is home to a five-star hotel, apartment buildings, shopping malls and other commercial buildings. There is also an artificial canal that is now being used to take visitors on boat rides. A man-made beach and lagoon were also developed to further enhance its position as a popular destination. Seven main components of the city are the Mines Wonderland, a theme park, the Mines Shopping Fair, the Mines Resort & Golf Club, the Mines Waterfront Business Park, the Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC), and two hotels, the Palace Beach Resort & Spa, and the Palace of the Golden Horses.

It’s quite apparent that The Mines Resort City is a true one-stop destination. You can spend the whole day going on boat rides and enjoying the other attractions at the Mines Wonderland or play on the beach and lagoon, and even shop till you drop at the Mines Shopping Fair. Food is abundance and you can choose from the fast foods, food courts and restaurants dotted around the area. One recommended restaurant is the Fatty Seafood Restaurant that faces the lake. You should really try the butter crab. Getting around is quite easy with the commuter station nearby and many bus transportations.

The exterior of the Palace Of The Golden Horses Mines Resort Kuala Lumpur is quite impressive, aptly earning it ‘Asia's Most Extraordinary Hotel’ tag. The most impressive would probably be its waterfront that overlooks the picturesque 150-acre lake. A blend of Moorish and Malaysian architecture, the Palace Of The Golden Horses Mines Resort Kuala Lumpur offers beautifully furnished accommodation with luxurious furnishing with a starting rate of RM380 (USD106).
