Cape Rochado
About 10km from Port Dickson
town is the secluded area of Cape Rochado, which is noted for its
lighthouse overlooking the Straits of Malacca, which was first built
by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Visitors can hike through the
Cape Rochado Nature Reserve to get up to the lighthouse and at certain
times of the year, can see both green turtles passing by the cape
and the annual migration of raptors from and to Sumatra. Cape Rochado
is also noted for the nearby secluded cove of Tanjung Tuan and its
easily accessible coral reef (which is a marine reserve).
