Kota Kinabalu City Day Celebration

2 February

Celebration the city of Kota Kinabalu with the local folks as the city brings to you plenty of fun, entertainment and activities.

 

Pesta Kalimaran

7 - 8 April

Join the folks of Tenom in this 2-day event showcasing the rich culture of the Murut people as they put up colourful and fascinating cultural performances such handicraft demonstrations and local dance.

 

National Water Festival - Labuan International Sea Challenge

1 - 6 May

Participants from all over the world compete in a week filled with fishing, swimming and kayak competitions.

 

Sabah Fest

4 May

This is Sabah's most anticipated cultural show where ethnic groups in Sabah display a rich and colourful show of generation-old cultures and tradition. Sabah Fest is the prelude to the statewide celebration of Harvest Festival.

 

Tadau Kaamatan (Harvest Festival)

30 - 31 May

At this festival, the Kadazandusun communities gather for a thanksgiving celebration of a bountiful harvest - the best time to witness and experience the Kadazandusun culture.

 

Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival

16 June - 2 September

Malaysia's annual sales carnival promises plenty of bargains and special discounts on lots of items from designer wear to electrical items to lighten the hearts (and pockets) of shopaholics nationwide.

 

Pesta Gambus

28 - 29 July

The Gambus is one of the oldest stringed musical instruments made by the Brunei-Malay community in the West Coast of Sabah. This 2-day celebration showcases music produced using this traditional musical instrument.

 

Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon

6 - 7 August

Dubbed 'The world's toughest mountain race', this extreme sporting event sees the world's top mountain runners racing up and down Kinabalu's 4096 metres over a total distance of 21 km.

 

Beaufort Cultural Carnival

25 - 26 August

Held in Beaufort, this cultural event showcases the cultures of the Bisaya people with food, performances, feasts, entertainment and traditional games as well as arts & crafts.

 

50 Years of Nationhood Merdeka Celebrations

31 August

Malaysians from all over the country get together to celebrate this historic event commemorating the country's 50th foray into the state of independence, marked with a host of activities including parades, exhibitions and fireworks displays. With a Merdeka Day Regatta.

 

Kudat Cultural Carnival

8 - 9 September

This cultural event, held in conjunction with the annual Coconut Fest, gives visitors an opportunity to get to know the Rungus culture, including beautiful beadwork, handicrafts, and gong-making skills.

 

Annual Orchid Show

13 September

Sabah, home to over 1000 orchid species and where many are found nowhere else in the world, is host to this annual orchid show where orchids of a variety of native and hybrid species are displayed. 

 

Heat of Borneo 4 x 4 Safari

28 October - 4 November

An adventure extravaganza where 4WD vehicles are put to the test following the challenging trail across the Borneo's jungle terrains.

 

Pesta Jagung (Maize Fest)

10 - 11 November

An annual festival of Kota Marudu District celebrating the maize industry, with exhibitions. competitions, sports, a beauty pageant and cultural performances.

 

Malaysia International Gourmet Festival

2 - 29 November

The country's premier gastronomic event comes to town with some of Malaysia's finest restaurants offering special promotions and exclusive menus for almost a month.

 

Jom Pigi Taman (Let's Go To The Park)

1 - 2 December

Held in conjunction with Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Promotion, this event held at  Sabah Agriculture Park features a multitude of activities including fishing competitions, a mountain bike challenge and many more.

 

Tuaran Cultural Carnival

1 - 2 December

Join the Dusun and Tantagas tribes in this cultural event filled with feasts, performances, arts & crafts and traditional games.

 

Malaysia Year End Sale Carnival

1 December - 1 January 2008
