Agadir: Things To See & Do
|
Kasbah
This fortress
overlooking Agadir is the city's most prominent landmark and was
first begun in 1540. Though it was restored in 1752, an
earthquake in 1960 destroyed much of the interior and now it is
most popular for the views of the town and bay from its
still-intact ramparts.

Tourist Train
For visitors looking
for a quick way to see the Agadir's sights, there's no easier
way then to hop on board the white tourist train, which does a
quick 1/2 tour of the town and can be boarded at Agadir's main
street.

Beach
Agadir's town beach
is a beautiful 10km stretch of broad, clean sand, and is a
popular recreational place for locals. Along the promenade are
restaurants and shops, especially to the north, while further to
the south the beach is quieter.

Souq al-Had
One of the most
popular souqs in the city, this is a great place to visit to for
some local colour. One of its most iconic sights are the many
stalls selling colourful spices from carefully piled heaps, but
there are plenty of other interesting stalls selling
quitessentially Moroccan items - spices, foods, textiles, etc -
so be sure to browse around. |
