Aalsmeer Flower Auction

The Netherlands is famous for its flowers and this daily working flower market is THE place to

see the blooms in all their glory, as they are trucked in from all over the country, sorted,

weighed, sold and sent off to distant lands around the world.

Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 11pm. From April 4th to September 30th, 7am to 11pm.

Rijksmuseum

This museum is famous for its world-class collection of masterpieces from the Netherland's

Golden Age, including works from Rembrandt, Frans Hals, Jan Steen and more, From 2003 to

2008, some of the finest works of the 17th century will be on display under the title the Masterpieces.

Anne Frank House

Home to the Frank family for twenty-five desperate months, this is where a young, thoughtful

girl wrote a diary that would become world-famous and where, in the end, she was betrayed.

Daily from 9 AM - 7 PM. March 15 through September 14 from 9 AM - 9 PM.  Closed on Yom Kippur.

The canal-side house and the Secret Annex are difficult to access for the disabled.

263 Prinsengracht . You can take tram 13 or 17 or bus 21, 170, 171 or 172 from Central Station, get off at bus stop 'Westermarkt'.

 


Van Gogh Museum

The eccentric painter's colourful life and even more colourful works are immortalized in his

popular museum.

Audioguide in different languages. Accessible for disabled visitors. All floors can   be reached via lift; wheelchairs and pushchairs are available free of charge.

Entrance is on Paulus Potterstraat 7. reached by tram numbers 2 and 5 from the Central Station and by tram numbers 3 and 12 (crossroad Paulus Potterstraat-  Van Baerlestraat).

 


Stedelijk Museum

Dedicated to modern art in all its forms, this 'quiet and civilized' museum is a popular attraction

for international visitors.

Every day 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Closed January 1. On December 5, 24 and 31, the museum closes at 5 p.m.

The museum is temporarily located at the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Post CS-building, Oosterdokskade 5, 1011 AD Amsterdam.

 


Keukenhof Gardens

A 70-acre showcase for the Dutch flower industry, every spring the gardens turn into a fantastic display of flower power, as over 7 million flowers bloom in stages to create a massive, beautiful

and hugely popular display.

Keukenhof's season runs from late March through mid-May. Daffodils, crocus, and narcissi are on display first; tulips a few weeks later; Hyacinths around mid-April.  Best time to come is in the last half of April, when everything blooms at once.
