Central Square (Plein)
Heart of The Hague
and frequent site of (peaceful) demonstrations, the Plein is
popular with both locals meeting up with friends, with
politicians from the government buildings lining the square and
foreign visitors looking to relax in the many sidewalk cafes.
The square is centred on a statue of William of Orange.

Scheveningen
Once a tiny fishing
village, Scheveningen has expanded to become almost a part of
The Hague. It is now a popular weekend seaside retreat, and even
boasts better nightlife than The Hague itself. The most popular
section of the town is Bad (which mean Bath) where most of the
beach attractions are located; but there's also Haven, the port
itself with its excellent seafood restaurants, and Dorp, the
former fishermen's residences.

Madurodam
You can go around
the Netherlands in a day at this miniatures' park, which has
everything from the canals of Amsterdam to the fortifications of
the Deltas laid out all in miniature. There's also an airport, a
beach and adorable teeny-tiny cars running around the scenes.
Definitely a hit with the kids, and not a few parents as well!

Panorama Mesdaq
One of the world's
few cylindrical paintings, this panorama was painted in the 19th
century by Hendrik Willem Mesdag. Showing the landscape around
Scheveningen valley, this huge painting (14 metres high and 120
metres around), it is a popular attraction and was may even have
been the inspiration for a similar artifact in Terry Pratchett's
Thud! novel.
