Car and bus transfer information from Christchurch Airport and Frankton Airport to Aoraki Mt Cook town.

Christchurch Airport Transfer
Christchurch Airport is located in Christchurch, about 322 km away from Mt Cook.
Car — Take State Highway 1 south from Christchurch until just after the township of Rangitata. There, enter State Highway 79. Upon reaching the town of Fairlie, exit onto State Highway 8. Just after passing the bottom shore of Lake Pukaki, get onto State Highway 80. From there, it’s a 55 kilometre drive to the Mount Cook village. Journey time is about 5 hrs.
Bus — Intercity Coachlines runs a daily service from Christchurch to Mount Cook. Both the Newmans and Great Sights tour bus companies have daily tours to and from Mt Cook. Both companies also offer tours that begin in Christchurch and end in Queenstown or the reverse. Fare is from NZ$ 115. Journey time is approximately 5 hrs.
 
Frankton Airport Transfer (Queenstown)
Frankton Airport is located 271 km away from Mt Cook in the Queenstown suburb of Frankton.
Car — From Queenstown, take State Highway 6 to Cromwell. From there, go north onto State Highway 8. 8 kilometres after the township of Twizel, enter State Highway 80. From there, its a 55 kilometre drive to the Mount Cook village. Journey time is about 4 hrs.
