The
Mosque of Prophet Muhammad (Masjid Al Nabawi)
All the major attractions of
Medina are religious in nature (the city does not permit non-Muslims to
enter), and of all the attractions in the city, the mosque of the
Prophet, and the tomb within, are the most visited. This huge mosque
with its ornate green dome is the focal point of most pilgrimages to the
city.

Mosque of Quba (Masjid Quba)
The most famous mosque in
Medina next to the Mosque of the Prophet, this was the very first mosque
built in the history of Islam. It is also significant because it was
here that the Prophet changed the direction of Muslim prayer from
Jerusalem to Mecca, making it the only mosque in the world where the
worshippers once faced any other direction than the Holy City.
