Durban: Things To See & Do
|
Francis Farewell Square
This square in the middle of
Durban is the very spot where the city first began as a tiny settlement
of traders in the early part of the 19th century. The square is home to
the Old City Hall (which is was designed to look like Belfast's City
Hall) and the Old Court House. Visit every Wednesday at 1pm and watch
the music, song and dance performances on the City Hall steps.

|
KwaMuhle Museum
This museum retraces the
disturbing history of apartheid as it was applied in Durban, and is
appropriately housed in a building which was once home to the Department
of Native Affairs, where every black man in the region was required to
formally register his race.
