Monument of General Vara del Rey in Paseo Vara del Ray

Located on Ibiza's main street, this monument celebrates the acclaimed general Vara del Ray, who was born in Ibiza in 1840. The square in which it is located, Paseo Vara del Ray, is one of the major landmarks in Ibiza, being the preferred locale for prestigious boutiques, restaurants and clubs. Even if you don't do any shopping here, it's a good place to just hang out, see and be seen.

Archaeological Museum

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this museum contains artifacts from the various civilizations which have swept over Ibiza, from the Phoenican-Punics, the the Arabs, the Romans, all the way up to the Spanish in the modern era.

Cathedral  of Saint Mary of Ibiza (Catedral de Santa Maria de Ibiza)

Tucked away in the old quarter of Ibiza, near to the Archaeological Museum, this Cathedral is home to a Diocesan museum which houses a number of precious artifacts, with pieces ranging from as far back as the Roman period.

Monument to Pirates (Monumento a los Corsarios)

Probably the only one of its kind, this obelisk in Ibiza's harbour honors the memory of some remarkable pirates, who defended the island from attack during the 18th century, earning themselves the gratitude of the island, and a monument that was erected in 1925.

Cave of Culleram (Cova d'es Culleram)

This large cave, first discovered in 1907, was once used as a temple to the goddess Tanoit in the days when the Carthaginians held sway over the island. Many of the temple artifacts are now on permanent exhibition in the Museu Arqueologic in Ibiza, but the original cave is still a popular stop for visitors.

Es Vedrá Rock

Towering almost 400 metres over the sea, this rocky pillar is a popular photography subject, particularly at sunset. A popular activity is to take a boat ride to get closer to the rock, before exploring the other isles nearby.
