Leon Cathedral (Santa María de Regla)
Leon's cathedral is
memorable for its spectacular stained glass windows. Numbering 125 and
first created in the 13th century, these magnificent works of art depict
various scenes from the Bible. The rest of the cathedral is noteworthy
too, including a museum containing many works of church art, and the
cloisters.

The Collegiate Church of
San Isidoro (Panteón y Museos de San Isidoro)
Dedicated to San Isidoro de Sevilla
in 1063, this church is noted for containing the tombs of 23 Leonese kings,
as befits the former capital of the Christian Kingdom of Leon. It also
houses church treasury that contains such treasures as a Book of Job
from 951, a Visigothic Bible and many other rare items from the 10th to
the 12th centuries. The building itself is considered a
magnificent structure, being one of the first
Romanesque buildings in León.
