The Alcazar

14th Century Mudéjar Palace built after the fashion of the Alhambra in Granada.

 


 

The Archivo General de Indias

A record of all the documents related to the Spanish colonization of America, some of which are on public display.

 


Sevill Cathedral

Like many major churches in Spain, this one was built within the site of an old mosque. This is one of the largest churches in the world. Houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

 


 

Giralda Tower

This tower is the landmark of Seville. A belfry was added atop the existing minaret for an old mosque, in order to convert it into a bell tower.

 


Plaza de Toros Real Maestraza

One of the oldest bullrings in Spain. A museum featuring posters and photos related to bullfighting is adjoined.

 


 

Museo de Bellas Artes

Major collection of Spanish art ranking second only to Madrid’s Prado.

 


Torre del Oro

This is a 13th century edifice built as part of the city fortifications, and called the “Tower of Gold” for its gilded tiles.
