Zurich
Great Minster (Zurich Grossmunster)
Built in the 12th
century, this famous landmark is noticeably huge in a city of
small, restrained buildings, and starkly austere compared to its
more fanciful brethren in other countries, a legacy from its
days as a shelter to Zwingli’s Reformation movement in the
1500’s. Today, its twin towers are one of the most visible
landmarks in the modern city.
