Car Upon exiting the airport, take the E-6 motorway to get to the
city centre. Journey time is about 45 mins. |

Taxi Taxis can be flagged down outside the arrival hall. You should
either insist that the meter is used or negotiate the fare before embarking.
Average price is about USD 15. |

Bus The airport Havas shuttle bus runs from the airport bus
terminal to Taksim Square in central Istanbul. Fare is about USD 6. Journey
time is about 30 mins and the shuttle bus runs every half hour from 6 am to
11:30 pm. A bus also runs to the city bus terminal. The bus runs on demand.
Journey time is about 40 mins. Service runs 24 hrs; fare is about USD6
during the day, a little higher between midnight and 5 am. |

Rail The light rail metro system connects the airport to Esenler.
Airport metro station connected to the international terminal via an
underground passage (15 mins walk). Stop at Zeytinburu to transfer to the
city tram system, for direct access to Sultanahmet Square, the main tourist
area. Fare is less than USD1 and journey time is about 30 mins. Service runs
from 6 am to a little after midnight.
Suburban trains run to Yesilyurt
near the airport and connect to Istanbul central Sirkeci Station. Fare is
about USD 4 and journey time is about 30 mins; taxi from the Airport to
Yesilyurt Tren Istasyonu is about USD 6 and 10 minutes long. |
