Stonehenge

Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the world, the great and ancient stone circle stands as a timeless testimony to the people who built it, between 3000BC and 1500BC. Before Stonehenge was built thousands of years ago, the whole of Salisbury Plain was a forest of towering pines and hazel woodland.

The Wardrobe Museum

The museum displays a significant part of the collection of the forming regiments of the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment. As with any registered museum the collection is restricted by its trust deeds to artifacts from the regular, militia and volunteer infantry units of Berkshire and Wiltshire.

Salisbury Cathedral

Enjoy spectacular views as you explore the roof spaces and tower, climbing 332 steps in easy stages by narrow winding spiral staircases to reach to the foot of the spire 225 feet above ground level. A tour of the Cathedral, Chapter House and Magna Carta takes just over an hour, although tours can be adjusted to meet your schedule. You may wish to extend your stay with time for refreshments in the spectacular glass roofed restaurant.

Old Wardour Castle

Old Wardour castle was intended to impress visitors and guests with its builder's wealth, taste and power. Badly damaged in the English Civil War, it was returned to the Arundell family who continued to maintain it as a ruin when they built New Wardour nearby in 1776.
