Kenilworth: Things To See & Do
|
Kenilworth Castle
Built by
Geoffrey de Clinton, a lieutenant of Henry I, this once imposing castle
is now in ruins, but is still remarkably picturesque. During its long
history it has been the home of Robert Dudley, Elizabeth I's favourite,
and was the subject of Sir Walter Scott's romance of the same name.

|
|
Warwick Castle
Another grand old castle,
beautifully preserved and evocative of the medieval era, this castle is
popular with tours and independent visitors for its medieval shows and
its ghost tours.

|
|
Coventry Cathedral
One of the most famous
Cathedrals in the country, this particular edifice is noted for, among
other things, its statue of St. Micheal slaying the dragon, and the huge
altar tapestry.

|
Stratford Upon Avon
World famous as the home of William Shakespeare
(whether or not he was a real person), the town is a charming blend of
modern and medieval, and of course offers a wide variety of attractions
for those longing to learn more about the Bard. |
