Leicester: Things To See & Do
|
Castle Gardens
The Castle Gardens
in Leicester was the original site of Leicester Castle, all that
can be seen now is the lage mound that it was once situated
upon. There are cobbled lanes and buildings like the Mary de
Castro church which give indications of Leicester's historic
past. |

Anstey Hedges Walk
There are many walks
in and around Leicestershire; the county has many beautiful
green areas and amazing panoramic views across the rolling
countryside. A lot of the mapped routes include natural history,
local heritage, and just 'show me the way' type walks. All are
of a circular nature, but vary in terms of length and
difficulty.A short and interesting walk is the popular ‘Anstey
Hedges’, which is 2.5 Miles / 4 KM round trip. The great thing
about Leicestershire countryside is the various pubs dotted all
over, so for this particular walk, pop into the Hare and Hound
for refreshment after a good hike.
