Norwich Castle

The ancient Norman keep of Norwich Castle dominates the city and is one of the most important buildings of its kind in Europe. Once a royal castle, it now houses fine regional collections of archaeology, art and natural history.

Norwich Cathedral

Dating from 1096, and principally of Norman design, the Cathedral is one of the major landmarks of the city and is particularly respected for its architectural detailing.

The Mustard Shop Museum

One of England’s most loved condiments has its own museum, with charming displays showing the history of this hot sauce through the centuries. There is also a shop which sells every variety of mustard, including the famed English mustard.

Dragon Hall

This magnificent medieval merchant’s hall is a monument to medieval craftsmanship and the powerful cloth guild of the past centuries, easily rivalling the religious buildings in the city for ostentation and prestige.

Blickling Hall

Built in the early 17th century, this is one of finest Jacobean houses in the country. The house is furnished with some impressive period pieces and boasts a lovely formal garden and orangery.

Caister Roman Town

The Roman fortifications, which once protected the roman town of Venta Icenorum, can still be seen here, and the history of the area can be read on a series of informative panels on signposted walks.

Tasburgh Hillfort

A remnant of an earthwork fort from the Iron Age, it is particularly unique for having the parish church standing within it. The history of the site is detailed on explanatory boards mounted around the site.

Wolterton Par

House built for the first Lord Walpole, brother of the 1st Prime Minister, this is a beautiful example

of a Georgian house, set within a tranquil park. It also houses an extensive portrait collection.
