Norwich Castle
The ancient Norman
keep of Norwich Castle dominates the city and is one of the most
important buildings of its kind in Europe. Once a royal castle,
it now houses fine regional collections of archaeology, art and
natural history.

Norwich Cathedral
Dating from 1096,
and principally of Norman design, the Cathedral is one of the
major landmarks of the city and is particularly respected for
its architectural detailing.

The Mustard Shop Museum
One of England’s
most loved condiments has its own museum, with charming displays
showing the history of this hot sauce through the centuries.
There is also a shop which sells every variety of mustard,
including the famed English mustard.

Dragon Hall
This magnificent
medieval merchant’s hall is a monument to medieval craftsmanship
and the powerful cloth guild of the past centuries, easily
rivalling the religious buildings in the city for ostentation
and prestige.

Blickling Hall
Built in the early
17th century, this is one of finest Jacobean houses in the
country. The house is furnished with some impressive period
pieces and boasts a lovely formal garden and orangery.

Caister Roman Town
The Roman
fortifications, which once protected the roman town of Venta
Icenorum, can still be seen here, and the history of the area
can be read on a series of informative panels on signposted
walks.

Tasburgh Hillfort
A remnant of an
earthwork fort from the Iron Age, it is particularly unique for
having the parish church standing within it. The history of the
site is detailed on explanatory boards mounted around the site.

Wolterton Par
House built for the
first Lord Walpole, brother of the 1st Prime Minister, this is a
beautiful example
of a Georgian house,
set within a tranquil park. It also houses an extensive portrait
collection.
