Magdalen College
The tower of
Magdalen Tower is one of the highlights of the University. The
bell tower is the site where choristers sing in Latin to greet
the sun on May Day every year. It was here that King Charles I
was caught by the rebels during the Civil War.

Christ Church
Also serving as the
Cathedral of the diocese of Oxford, this is also officially the
college chapel of Oxford University. It is built in the grand
medieval manner, with some part dating from the 12th Century.
The tower houses an 18,000 pound bell named Great Tom, which
peals at 9.05 pm nightly to signal the closing of the college
gates.

Old Bodleian Library
The famed
Bodleian is one of the greatest single libraries in the world,
home to rare texts, some so obscure that they lay awaiting
rediscovery by some future scholar. You can make a visit to the
old building of the library, which was initially funded by Sir
Thomas Bodley, a diplomat and scholar who served Queen Elizabeth
in Europe.

Carfax Tower
Located in the
middle of town, this tower offers a great view of many of the
colleges around. It has been a focal point of “town and gown”
disputes in olden times, between the folk of Oxford Town, and
the student body and faculty of the University.
