A two-week festival showcasing independent films at the Roxie Cinema and the Castro Theatre.

 

Tulipmania at Pier 39

14 - 19 February

A showcase of nearly 40,000 vibrant and colorful tulips, including gardening tips and daily tours starting at 10 a.m.

 

Pacific Orchid Exposition

15 - 18 February

More than 100,000 orchids of every color, shape, and size at display

at Festival Pavillion at the Fort Mason Centre.

 

Chinese New Year Festival & Parade

3 March

A celebration of the Chinese New Year filled with fireworks, parades and lion dances in Chinatown.

 

International Asian-American Film Festival

15 - 25 March

A ten-day festival at various locations featuring the best in Asian-American films.

 

Flower and Garden        Show

21 - 25 March

Displays of thousands of plants and flowers as well as gardening tips and seminars at the Cow Palace.

 

Cherry Blossom Festival

15 - 16 April

A festival showcasing various aspects of the Japanese culture at Japantown.

 

Union Street Festival

2 - 3 June

The city's largest art festival showcasing the works of more than 200 artists; also includes live entertainments and food & drink.

 

Annual Ethnic Dance Festival

9 - 24 June

Three weekends of ethnic performances and seminars at the Palace of Fine Arts.

 

Chocolate Festival

8 - 9 September

Food sampling and contests based around the theme of chocolates,

at the Ghirardelli Square at the Fisherman's Wharf.

 

Vivas Las Americas

15 September

A family-oriented festival consisting of a variety of entertainment, activities, and more to celebrate the unique cultures of Mexico, Central America, and South America at Pier 39.

 

Pacific Coast Fog Fest

29 - 30 September

A day celebrating the sun, the sand and the surf at Pacifica Oceanfront.

 

Fleet Week at Fisherman's Wharf

4 - 9 October

A tribute to the US military filled with activities and exhibitions at the Fisherman's Wharf.

 

Columbus Day Weekend
